その一環として、燃料水素/アンモニアの調達とともに、上流製造事業への投資を目指しており、具体的案件の事業開発および投資に向けた各種対応が急務となっています。
当部門では、化石燃料に代わる次世代燃料として期待される、水素・アンモニアの燃料としての開発を担い、近いところでは、数年以内での、火力発電所における水素・アンモニアの利用（石炭とアンモニアの混焼）実現に向けての燃料確保を進めています。

JERA are working to establish a hydrogen and ammonia value chain to achieve zero-emission thermal power generation as a concrete effort towards decarbonisation in the future.

As part of this initiative, JERA are aiming to invest in the upstream manufacturing business as well as to procure hydrogen and ammonia fuels and therefore urgently need to take various actions toward business development and investment in specific projects.

This division is responsible for the development of hydrogen and ammonia fuels which are expected to replace fossil fuels as next-generation fuels and is working to secure these fuels to be able to use them in thermal power plants (multi-fuel combustion of coal and ammonia) within a few years.

We are negotiating and collaborating around the world to acquire hydrogen and ammonia as fuels and to build and expand an optimal supply chain. To this end, we are looking for someone who – at the forefront of the global energy business – can play an important role in the growth of our new business to realise a low-carbon society. You will take on the challenge of a large-scale project – which only JERA can offer – that own a comprehensive energy value chain within the group from upstream resource development to the power generation business, and you will operate in a wide range of genres

Role description 

You will be responsible for the following tasks related to the hydrogen and ammonia new upstream business development:
- Gathering information for project development
- Due Diligence
- Project Participation Discussions
- Negotiating project contracts
- Finance structuring
- Internal approval (up to the board of directors)

Experience/Professional Requirements

【Minimum Requirements】
- Experience in the domestic and international energy business and the petrochemistry business
- Business Development experience
- English: Business-level or above

【Preferred Qualifications】
- Experience in Oil & Gas upstream projects, petrochemical upstream projects or power generation projects
- Experience in the CCS
- Experience working overseas
- Knowledge of Oil & Gas, petrochemical plants, electrolysis equipment, Life Cycle Assessment, etc.
- Experience as a project engineer at an engineering company
- English: TOEIC score of 860 points or higher
- Knowledge of accounting (bookkeeping, CPA, etc.)
- Knowledge of Excel (economic models)

 Role of the Department

Gathering of information, development of new deals, due diligence, contract negotiations, finance structuring and internal approval for the hydrogen and ammonia new upstream business development.
