【EA College Admission】Course Coordinator - All-English position
About J PREP J PREP is a liberal arts after-school cram school based in Shibuya, with branches in Jiyugaoka, Kichijoji, Yotsuya, Yokohama, Mita, Myogadani, Azamino and Sakata (Yamagata Prefecture). J PREP was founded in 2012 by Jun Saito, a former assistant professor of political science at Yale University and the author of several recent bestselling books. J PREP students are between the ages of 3 through 18 and attend top schools in and around Tokyo. Many of our students aspire to study abroad, attend university at high-ranking schools in the United States and other countries, or enter English-oriented domestic programs. Our highly qualified faculty members are graduates of some of the top liberal arts programs in the US and internationally, and many hold advanced degrees.J PREP is rapidly expanding. Our multimedia curriculum is intended to broaden students' perspectives, and supplemental courses in various liberal arts disciplines (such as literature, economics, and science) are offered periodically. Our long-term mission is to better the overall quality of the Japanese educational system from the bottom up, rather than merely teaching conversational English or preparing students for entrance exams in Japan. As a majority of our faculty members have lived outside Japan, they understand the importance of English as a communication device. For the same reason, J PREP's work environment is not confined by traditional Japanese corporate culture. J PREP EA College Admission Overview J PREP EA (English for Academic Purposes) College Admission is a three-year program for senior high school students. Its goal is to help our students gain admittance to competitive and ultra-competitive domestic universities and programs. As opposed to our other traditional cram schools, J PREP views the entrance exams as not the end of the students’ studies but as one important moment on the students’ journey to becoming global leaders in their chosen fields. Our students are extremely motivated, and we are seeking equally motivated, expert staff to help them reach the next level. As J PREP and its EA College Admission program continue to grow rapidly, we are looking for talented individuals to join our close-knit team and support the expansion of our operations. Position Description In this role, the successful candidate will assist in developing and maintaining the EA College Admission content/curriculum. The role is comprised of both specialized duties (~50%) and common duties (~50%). Specialized duties include but are not limited to: · creating and updating high-level content, curriculum, and lesson plans for our shared curriculum under the direction of the Curriculum Manager. · proofreading and quality checking content and teaching materials. Additional specialized duties may include: · researching the Japanese entrance-exam system and conducting research on how J PREP can better improve its offerings for senior high school students. · analyzing entrance exam trends and offering data-based recommendations on program improvements. · developing new course offerings for J PREP’s seasonal sessions. Common duties include but are not limited to: · assisting in monitoring and supervising sites where lessons are held. · teaching approximately six hours a week. · performing quality checks and providing feedback for instructors’ grading of students’ writing · grading student writings and correcting student work. · substituting classes. We offer · Salary: 4,400,000 – 5,800,000 (includes 20 hours of paid overtime) · a supportive team to help you succeed. · enrollment in pension and social health insurance. · transportation reimbursement. · 3 days paid leave granted upon joining with additional days given after 6 months of employment depending on date joined. We are seeking candidates who possess: · at least a three-year bachelor’s degree. · English proficiency. · a valid working visa. · experience teaching high-school-aged students; preferably in Japan. Ideally, this should be solo-teaching experience. · some understanding of the entrance exam system in Japan or a willingness to learn. · either (1) experience (or an interest) in CLIL methodology and teaching liberal arts subjects or (2) experience teaching test-preparation classes. · Japanese ability is helpful, but not required. Preference will be given to: · those who possess M.A. degrees in linguistics, TESOL, or other related fields. · those with significant experience (3+ years) teaching high-school aged students. · those with experience creating curriculum and content in a team.

【All-English Education】Scholars Instruction full-time position
Background J PREP Saito Juku is seeking enthusiastic instructors to join our team and accommodate our rapidly growing student population. In this full-time role, successful applicants will be responsible teaching group lessons, as well as non-teaching duties such as hiring, training, and scheduling. We are currently looking for candidates with experience teaching exclusively in English to students of varying proficiencies. We strive to help students improve their communication skills, express themselves, and reach their academic goals. Position Description: The J PREP Scholars team is currently seeking an applicant to join the team in a full-time capacity. In this role, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and assist with the Scholars department and its standardized testing curricula. Students are offered a comprehensive curriculum in liberal arts, such as biology, chemistry, economics, poetry, literature, among others, and standardized test preparation, with emphasis on TOEFL, IELTS and SAT. We also provide consultation services and tutoring for students who wish to apply to universities outside of Japan.
