Description

The Advanced Technology Division we are looking for a R&D Combat Designer who has experience creating exciting player and enemy/boss combat. We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is not afraid of thinking outside the box and experimenting with different ways of creating video game combat.

Responsibilities

・Prototype, polish and balance enemies, create and tune player abilities.
・Work with Game Director to create, and iterate on combat experiences.
・Give crisp feedback to quickly iterate on concepts, proposing solutions as well as criticisms.
・Collaborate with the AI and Animation leads.
・Contribute to the overall game design -- we expect every member of the team to have an impact on the overall player experience.

Purpose and appeal

The Advanced Technology Division is an expert set that is active at the front line of game technology, across the fields of rendering, animation, physics simulation, networking, big data, workflow, virtual reality (VR) and sound. We are seeking motivated and talented experts to work with us in Tokyo and push the boundaries in content creation.
You will be able to work with engineers and researchers in various fields to solve technical issues in game development and build your career pushing the boundaries of game development.

Required Skills & Experience

・A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the video game industry
・Must have shipped at least one title in a design role
・Extensive experience developing or playing action RPG titles
・Strong understanding of Unreal Engine, including the ability to create basic idea prototypes in UE
・Analytical skills for evaluating systems and interpreting player behavior
・Great communication skills using a variety of mediums: verbally, in writing, visually
・Outstanding self-motivation and initiative

Desirable skills & experience

・Prior experience doing monster design and boss design
・Experience with combat design in Unreal Engine
・Experience designing player classes or abilities
・User Interface design experience
・Prior work experience or education in other (non-design) disciplines: art, programming, production, or sound.

Salary
Salary commensurate with experience and ability with due consideration, the company provide employees preferential pay regardless of age according to our company's regulations. Adjustments to the aforementioned wages will be considered in responding to their ability and performance after joining the company.

Working Hours
