About the Role

Astroscale is seeking an IT Platform Engineer to design and build shared platform
capabilities that support development, testing, deployment, and application operations
across AWS and on-premise environments. The role focuses on owning the GitLab
ecosystem, enabling self-service tooling, and improving software ownership and governance
for engineering teams. This position acts as a central enabler for cross-functional
engineering groups, translating operational challenges into automated, maintainable platform solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The primary focus of this role is to develop reusable platform capabilities, optimize CI/CD
workflows, and enable sustainable software practices across the organization.

・Platform Development & Internal Developer Experience: Design and build reusable
AWS and on-premise platform capabilities that support development, testing, deployment, and application operations. Continuously improve platform documentation, onboarding experiences, training materials, and developer experience.

・GitLab Ecosystem Ownership: Act as the primary steward for the GitLab platform,
focusing on CI/CD pipeline optimization, runner management, platform integrations,
repository templates, standardized engineering workflows, and reusable automation
components.

・Self-Service Tooling: Create templates, golden paths, and self-service provisioning
workflows that allow engineering teams to deploy consistent environments without
manual intervention.

・Software Ownership Enablement: Help engineering teams improve ownership of
software assets by establishing maintainable repositories, documentation, release
processes, automated testing, and development workflows.

・Vendor Software Governance: Partner with Software QA and engineering teams to
improve management of vendor-delivered software assets, including software
inventories, repository ownership, source-code control policies, acceptance criteria,
build and release processes, traceability, and documentation practices.

・Repository Standardization & Lifecycle Support: Develop and maintain standard
repository templates and CI/CD frameworks applied consistently across internal and vendor-contributed projects, including automated testing, documentation generation,
and release automation. Help teams adopt sustainable practices to reduce long-term dependency on external suppliers

Engineering Automation & Enablement:

Work with software, mission, operations,
GNC, mechanical, AIV, and other engineering teams to identify opportunities for
automation. Develop solutions for data processing, simulation workflows, test
automation, data transformation pipelines, documentation automation, and reporting.
Reliability, Security & Observability: Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting using
Prometheus and Grafana. Coordinate incident response and root-cause analysis.
Implement automated patching, configuration control, recovery validation, and security
best practices. Mentor engineers on CI/CD, Git workflows, Infrastructure as Code, and
platform usage.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

ducation: Bachelor's degree or above in IT Engineering, Computer Science, or a
related subject.
Experience: 3+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Engineering
Automation roles.
Language: Professional proficiency in Japanese.
Linux Administration: Strong Linux (Ubuntu) administration experience.
CI/CD: Extensive CI/CD experience (GitLab preferred).
Version Control: Strong Git and GitOps knowledge.
Automation: Experience designing reusable automation workflows.
Soft Skills: Strong documentation and communication skills; ability to collaborate
effectively with both software and non-software engineering teams.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

SRE Practices: Experience with SRE practices (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets).
Cross-Domain Support: Experience supporting engineering organizations beyond
software development teams.
Process Automation: Experience with engineering process automation.
Governance: Software governance, software quality, configuration management, or
compliance experience.
Vendor Management: Experience managing vendor-developed software assets.
AI/LLM Workflows: Experience with AI/LLM-assisted software development workflows.
Other Tech: AWS certifications, previous technical leadership or mentoring experience.
Bilingual Proficiency: English and Japanese bilingual proficiency.

 Astroscaleでは、AWSおよびオンプレミス環境における開発、テスト、デプロイ（リリース）、アプリケーション運用を支える共通プラットフォーム機能の設計・構築を担当する IT Platform Engineer を募集しています。
このポジションでは、GitLab環境全体の運用・管理を主軸とし、エンジニアが自律的に利用できるセルフサービス型のツール群を提供するとともに、エンジニアリングチームにおけるソフトウェアの所有管理（オーナーシップ）やガバナンスの向上を推進します。
また、エンジニアリング関連の複数部門を横断的に支援する中核的な役割を担い、運用上の課題を分析し、それらを自動化された保守性の高いプラットフォームソリューションへと変換していくことが求められます。

主な役割

このポジションの主な目的は、再利用可能なプラットフォーム機能を開発し、CI/CDワークフローを最適化するとともに、組織全体において持続可能なソフトウェア開発・運用の実践を推進することです。

主な業務内容
プラットフォーム開発・開発者体験（Platform Development & Internal Developer Experience）開発、テスト、デプロイ、アプリケーション運用を支援するため、AWSおよびオンプレミス環境向けの再利用可能なプラットフォーム機能を設計・構築します。
また、プラットフォームに関するドキュメント、新規利用者向けオンボーディング体験、トレーニング資料、開発者体験（Developer Experience: DevEx）の継続的な改善を行います。

・GitLabプラットフォームの管理責任者（GitLab Ecosystem Ownership）
GitLabプラットフォームの主要な管理者として以下を担当します。
CI/CDパイプラインの最適化
GitLab Runnerの管理
各種プラットフォームとの連携
リポジトリテンプレートの整備
標準化された開発プロセスの構築
再利用可能な自動化コンポーネントの開発

＜必須条件＞

・学歴（Education）
ITエンジニアリング、コンピュータサイエンス、または関連分野における学士号以上を有すること。

・経験（Experience）
DevOps、プラットフォームエンジニアリング、SRE（Site Reliability Engineering）、またはエンジニアリング自動化に関する職務経験が3年以上あること。

・言語（Language）
日本語での業務遂行能力（ビジネスレベル以上）を有すること。

・Linux管理（Linux Administration）
Linux（特にUbuntu）の管理・運用に関する豊富な経験を有すること。

・CI/CD
CI/CD環境の構築・運用経験が豊富であること（GitLabの経験が望ましい）。
バージョン管理（Version Control）
GitおよびGitOpsに関する高度な知識を有すること。

・自動化（Automation）
再利用可能な自動化ワークフローを設計した経験を有すること。

・ソフトスキル（Soft Skills）
優れたドキュメント作成能力およびコミュニケーション能力を有し、ソフトウェア系・非ソフトウェア系のエンジニアリングチーム双方と効果的に協働できること。

・SREの実践経験（SRE Practices）
