As an Engineering Manager, you will play a key leadership role in driving this transformation.
Responsibilities
Lead Engineering Teams
- Maximize the performance and impact of engineering teams.
- Set team goals, track progress, and drive continuous improvement.
- Improve engineering productivity, software quality, and development processes.
Drive Product Delivery
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-value products.
- Prioritize initiatives and manage project risks.
- Balance delivery speed, product quality, and business value to achieve sustainable product delivery.
Develop Engineers
- Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings, provide coaching and feedback, and support performance evaluations.
- Help engineers grow through career development and mentoring.
- Support individual growth using our Engineering Ladder framework.
- Foster a psychologically safe and inclusive team environment.
Support Technical Decision-Making
- Partner with Tech Leads to drive technical strategy.
- Reduce technical debt and improve long-term maintainability.
- Promote the adoption of AI development tools and emerging technologies.
Improve system quality, reliability, operability, and security.
Strengthen the Organization
- Participate in hiring and recruitment.
- Support onboarding and team integration.
- Contribute to organizational design and cross-team improvement initiatives.
- Foster a strong engineering culture.
Drive Global Engineering
- Collaborate with engineering teams across Japan, India, and Vietnam.
- Lead diverse, multicultural teams and promote effective cross-cultural collaboration.

Application Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Engineering Management
- 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.
- Experience in performance management, coaching, hiring, and developing engineers.
- Proven track record of leading engineering teams and delivering successful outcomes.
Software Engineering
- 5+ years of experience developing web applications or cloud-based services.
- Experience with Agile software development.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and operations.
- Strong interest in AI development tools, generative AI, and emerging technologies, with a passion for leveraging them to improve engineering processes and productivity.
Project Leadership
- Experience leading product development projects.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in project prioritization and risk management.
Communication
- Professional proficiency in Japanese.
- A positive attitude toward working in an English-speaking environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing global engineering teams.
- Experience building cloud-native systems.
- Experience leading organizational transformation or building engineering organizations as an Engineering Manager.
- Understanding of DevOps, SRE, and Platform Engineering.
- Business-level English communication skills for meetings, chat, and documentation.
