Yamaha Corporation, located in Hamamatsu, Japan, offers challenging engineering internships and we are looking for versatile and talented interns to join the Development Groups. These are paid internships and will provide real-life experience at one of the largest and most dynamic musical instruments and professional audio product manufacturers in the world!
Internships are located in Hamamatsu, Japan and the length will be approximately 12 weeks. If applicable, applicants must be eligible to travel abroad under any epidemic border measures. Internships are subject to cancellation due to any business or safety concerns.

Project Title
Development of PC Software for Digital Musical Instrument Content Creation
(Content: MIDI Song, Style, Voice Parameter, etc)
Project Description
We are seeking a software developer to support the creation of digital musical instrument content. The ideal candidate will:
o Contribute to the development of PC software tools for digital musical instrument content creation
o Design and implement user interfaces optimized for music content workflows
o Conduct usability testing and analyze user feedback to enhance software features and improve overall user experience
Required Items:
- Major/Minor/Master
Minimum GPA of 3.25 - Knowledge
Basic understanding of music and musical instruments
Fundamental knowledge of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) principles or UI/UX design - Skills
Basic software development skills in any generic (statically typed) programming language (e.g., C++, C#, Java, etc.) - Experiences
Experience with musical instruments, music production, or using DAWs - Others
Logical communication skills (presentation, discussion, writing) in English (CEFR B2 level)

Desirable Items:
- Major/Minor/Master
BS/MS in either engineering, computer science, physical sciences, or mathematics - Knowledge
Basic understanding of MIDI protocol and digital audio concepts - Skills
Software development skills with UI development frameworks (Qt, Flutter, JUCE, etc.), or cross-platform development (Windows/macOS)
Skills in version control systems (e.g., Git) - Experiences
Experience in using design tools such as Figma or Adobe XD
