Overview
The CAO Office is instrumental in driving change across the organisation. It supports CAO in leading and executing enterprise transformation initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, scalability, and long-term business growth. These may include, among others, cross-functional, cross-regional or global programs such as optimization of the firm’s operating model, deployment of new business platforms, development and coordination of the firm’s digital/AI strategy, and team transitions. The CAO Office is also involved in the integration and operational alignment of the firm’s joint ventures. The CAO Office consists of the Change Management Group and the Enterprise Project Management Office Group.
Duties and Responsibilities
●Support CAO in providing business change leadership for transformation programs.
●Provide communication of transformation program vision, scope, business case and goals to the team and stakeholders through presentations and other messaging to create awareness, report status and showcase achievements.
●Conduct Business Impact Assessments, including qualitative and quantitative analysis, being able to articulate key benefits/deliverables and actively manage response plans across impacted stakeholders.
●Create and drive a strategy/approach for specific transformation initiatives, balancing various requirements and ensuring they are aligned with the firm’s strategic priorities.
●Own and produce key change management deliverables, ensuring key stakeholders are engaged and on board throughout delivery.
●Balance multiple projects/workstreams by coordinating with business partners/external vendors, subject matter experts (SMEs), members of the CAO Office, and other stakeholders.
●Effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders in and outside Japan, formulate an engagement strategy to drive awareness and mobilization across the organisation.
●Work with business partners to ensure acceptance of new requirements and/or technology, and eventual operational readiness.
●Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies, coordinate the adoption of new technology by identifying use cases, raising awareness through information sharing, and suggesting practical solutions.
Knowledge and Skills
●Good understanding of the asset management industry, knowledge of the regulatory environment and industry trends (including digital).
●Knowledge and experience in leading projects across the asset management activity value chain.
●Ability to write business requirement specifications and requirement analysis frameworks.
●Working knowledge related to multiple areas including, as the case may be, investment asset classes, portfolio management, performance & attribution, risk modeling, trade execution and other buy-side trade life cycle and monitoring processes.
●Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese.
●Ability to drive innovation and excellence
●Strong analytical and numeracy skills.
Experience and Qualification
●Degree in business, finance, engineering, technology, or related field.
●At least 5 years of relevant work experience in program management, business analyst, change management or equivalent roles, preferably at an asset management or financial services firm.
●Hands-on experience working in a specific functional area across the asset management activity value chain is a plus.
●Proficiency in MS Office applications, in particular, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
●Familiarity with different business and investment applications is advantageous.
