募集背景/Overview

We are looking for an experienced graphic designer and creative director to help bring our digital media to a global audience.

The successful candidate will work closely with our global marketing/PR, event-planning, and media teams. Ideal candidates are visual problem solvers who are able to comprehend target audience needs/taste, understand and respond to feedback, and align with growing brands. Deliverables will include thumbnails, web design, pamphlets, logos, social media banners, and other design work for promotional material.

We are looking for a candidate who will not only produce designs, but help build the direction of GLOBIS visual content and marketing material, including design, color, branding, and typography.

業務内容/Responsibilities

You will be responsible for planning and implementing visual content in accordance with publication, social media, and event schedules. Your duties will include the following:

  • Communicate in English and Japanese for visual branding needs such as logos, thumbnails, infographics, web design, typography, etc.
  • Create pamphlet designs, social media and PowerPoint templates, press kits, and other branded materials for PR and event use.
  • Provide insight on overall design direction for better brand recognition throughout the company’s global expansion.

魅力/Challenges of the position

You will be in charge of graphic design for GLOBIS’s online publications, global marketing, and PR from planning to applying design elements. Your responsibilities will span several teams within a single department, so flexibility to change gears quickly while maintaining a high-quality standard is a must. Some projects will require a global design sense, while others are focused within Japan, so you will need a broad sense of creativity and understanding of regional tastes to meet the needs of various teams. You will also need sufficient English and Japanese skills (verbal and written) to communicate across teams. Our department is international and key to the rapid expansion of GLOBIS. You will have a great deal of creative input on how we execute our mission and branding going forward.

応募資格/Qualifications

必須要件/Required

  • Fluent English 
  • JLPT N2 or equivalent (some Japanese will be required on a daily basis) 
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a graphic designer  
  • Flexibility and professionalism to create quality design and foster strong relationships with GLOBIS colleagues 
  • Excellent communication skills and design sense 
  • Familiarity with design software (Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator a must) 
  • Understanding of how design engages audiences on various platforms (social media, print, web layout, etc.) 
  • Ability to work creatively within branding guidelines 
  • Strong time/project management skills and ability to multitask 
  • Have a strong interest in GLOBIS businesses and GLOBIS WAY

The GCI team is part of the POE department within GLOBIS Corporation. It consists of about 10 members and oversees GLOBIS Corporation PR, the publication GLOBIS Insights, data analytics, global marketing, and event support. *Note that the designer role will be based in GCI, but responsibilities will span teams across the department.

GLOBIS employees have flexible working hours and are allowed remote work. Depending on the department and other conditions, staff are asked to commute to the office 1-2 days/week. Typical working hours are 9:30-18:00, with a 1-hour lunch break and weekends (Sat, Sun) off. Seminars/webinars, international interviews, etc. often take place in the evening (19:00-21:00). When attendance for these is necessary, starting hours are adjusted accordingly.
