About the position

As a full stack developer, you will work on the development of a brand new generative AI application which enables the automation of back-office workflows. 

As the development team is in the start-up phase, priority is given to delivering value to users as quickly as possible, even while overlapping some of each other's roles, rather than clarifying the division of roles between members. We welcome people who can work autonomously without getting too caught up in their role or job title, and who can think about what is necessary at any given time.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve the service
  • Active participation in code reviews and pair-programming to improve the code quality
  • Monitor the production environment and recover the system if some troubles happen 
  • Participate in the discussions of product specifications
  • Contribute to the improvement of development process, communication, team building, etc

Technology Stack

  • Backend: Python (Fast API), Golang
  • Frontend: React,js, TypeScript
  • Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform
  • Development environment: Docker
  • CI/CD: Circle CI, GitHub Action, Argo CD
  • Monitoring: Datadog, Rollbar
  • Task management: JIRA
  • Communication: Slack, Zoom

Requirements

Must to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years experience of web application development
  • Experience of using Python as backend server development
  • Proficiency of test driven development
  • Experience of container based development
  • Experience of designing and deploying cloud infrastructure
  • Professional working proficiency in English (IELTS 7+, TOEFL iBT 100+, TOEIC 870+)
  • Excellent technical writing skill
  • Experience of team software development
  • Be able to relocate to Japan and commute to the office in Tokyo at least twice a week

Nice to have

  • Understanding of back office work like accounting, human resources, etc
  • Experience of modern frontend development
  • Experience of micro service development
  • Understanding of DevOps practice
  • Experience of using LLM application development tools like LangChain, AutoGPT, Llama, etc

Salary

  • 6.4-9.5 million JPY annually

Location

  • Location: Tokyo, Japan.
  • Remote work: Hybrid/Partial remote with one day of in-office work per week.

  • Flexible Working Hours (No core time)

  • Two days off per week (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Japanese national holidays (16 national holidays in 2023)
  • Paid holidays: 10 days (first year) *Number of paid holidays increases (+1 day) each year up to 20 days per year.
  • Summer vacation days: 3 days
