We have partnered with Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc. and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation to establish a new company in preparation for the launch of a new digital bank.
We are currently seeking candidates for the position of QA Manager as part of this initiative.

About Us
We are a startup team partnering with Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation to establish a new digital bank. Our top priority is to build embedded financial products from scratch to support small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
Our new digital bank project leverages the power of SaaS ✖️ Fintech to deliver accessible, cost-effective, and timely financial services. Our aim is to create transformative back-office operational experiences and innovative financial journeys, supporting the Digital Transformation of our clients.
Main Responsibilities
The mission of this role as an SDET is to improve the quality of Japan's digital banking system.
In this position, you will be responsible for leading quality improvements and testing enhancements.
- Review and improve existing API tests
- Define test strategies for API testing and drive continuous improvement
- Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines
Unique Experience Gained
- Lead collaborative development, design reviews, and post-mortems with our international teams.
- Define quality governance specific to the banking domain, including formalizing release criteria, severity definitions (Sev1-3), traceability requirements, and audit readiness protocols.

Required Skills and Experience
- Over 3 years of development experience
- Holder of ISTQB (including JSTQB) Foundation Level certification or equivalent knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent knowledge
- Experience leading a development team
- Experience in formulating test plans and test strategies
- Experience with code-based API testing tools such as RestAssured or Karate
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience in reviewing system architecture
- Experience in improving testability
- Understanding of testing techniques (ISTQB Advanced Level knowledge)
- Japanese proficiency (N2 or higher)
- Experience in AI development and/or experience in using AI tools to improve development processes.
