We have partnered with Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc. and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation to establish a new company in preparation for the launch of a new digital bank. We are currently seeking candidates for the position of SRE as part of this initiative. *Based on the press release announced on April 16, 2025. ※ This position involves employment with Money Forward, Inc., and a secondment to the new company (SMBC Money Forward Bank Preparatory Corporation). About Us We are a startup team partnering with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation to establish a new digital bank. This initiative aims to deliver more user-friendly, cost-effective, and timely financial services, providing an innovative back-office experience and creating financial flows that contribute to the growth of the Japanese economy. Main Responsibilities As an engineer responsible for the high availability and reliability of the system infrastructure required for a digital bank, you will be tasked with building and operating this infrastructure. Ensure stable operation of the system platform with high availability and reliability Improve service reliability by defining and operating SLI/SLO and continuously improving performance Use Datadog for monitoring, observability, and incident response Ensure compliance and manage the infrastructure and security operations, particularly with AWS multi-region configurations Maximize the productivity of the development team through platforms (CI/CD, development environments and testing environments) Conduct performance optimization and create mechanisms for it Handle incidents, recovery, and incident management Handle incidents, recovery, and incident management, as well as fostering a postmortem culture. Overview Our company offers a range of services used by many users, including the automatic household accounting and asset management service "Money Forward ME" and the business-oriented cloud service "Money Forward Cloud." We also implement technologies such as "account aggregation" and "Money Forward ID," a single sign-on system, which support these services. Most of these services and features are developed in-house, not only in Japan but also at our overseas locations, Money Forward Vietnam and Money Forward India. The mission of the Platform and Reliability Engineering Division (hereafter referred to as the PRE Division) is to stabilize the services provided by Money Forward and maximize productivity in development through the platforms and technical support for the services developed by Money Forward. Main Job Responsibilities ■Overview As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for building and operating the common infrastructure (EKS platform) used by various applications of Money Forward. Development, operation, and maintenance related to the EKS environment Development, operation, and maintenance of tools related to the above ■Specific Tasks within the Team *The following are some of the tasks. We will discuss them during the interview process. Overview Under our mission, "Money Forward. Move your life forward”, Money Forward offers a range of services, including the automatic household accounting and asset management service "Money Forward ME" and the business-oriented cloud service "Money Forward Cloud," which are used by many users. For these services, utilizing various user data collected through a technology called "Account Aggregation" is essential. The Account Aggregation Team develops systems to collect user data. The collected data becomes more valuable information through our products and is returned to the users. However, we believe that the collected user data could have more diverse use cases for each user. The data collected from various sources is also connected to the users' lives. By enabling users to use their data more conveniently, we aim to move their lives forward. With this vision, we are now developing a new product. We are looking for an infrastructure engineer who will work with us to optimize the development and operation of this product. Main Responsibilities Designing, building, and operating cloud (AWS) and on-premises infrastructure. Establishment of metrics, monitoring, and alerts using tools like Datadog, as well as incident response (including troubleshooting, recovery, incident management, and post-mortems). Performance evaluation of applications and infrastructure. Performance optimization and the creation of systems to support it. Development of systems for incident response, detection, and prevention. Enhancement of service reliability, including the definition and management of SLIs/SLOs for continuous performance improvement. Security operations and compliance management for the entire infrastructure. Designing, building, and operating platforms to maximize the productivity of development teams(CI/CD, development environments, and testing environments). Conducting availability and reliability reviews from the design phase onward. Addressing financial industry-specific regulatory requirements.
