Q1: What kind of work have you been involved in up to now?
After joining the company, I spent several years engaged in environmental consulting projects in Japan and Southeast Asia. Later, a team for a large-scale biomass power generation project was formed, consisting of three members including myself. We ran around the country with maps in hand, searching for candidate sites, learning technologies, gaining acceptance from local people, and devising entirely new schemes from scratch. This experience of launching a new business was incredibly immersive.
Among these tasks, securing fuel procurement was vital. Since it was a transitional period, there were no established methods at the time. We groped our way through building long-term procurement schemes, contract conditions, quality aspects, and project finance structuring. Despite various challenges, the project gradually progressed, more members joined, and now there are seven operational and under-construction power plants nationwide.
This process was enjoyable and truly gave a sense of immediacy.
Q2: Why did you choose Renova?
My criteria for making a decision about where to work is whether I can accumulate high-concentration experiences at the forefront of business and work with a sense of immediacy.
I joined Renova because I believed I could directly face business and launch projects from scratch. I expressed this during the interview, and the company's management straightforwardly told me, "We have an environment that can respond to your aspirations." Upon joining, I found the internal environment exactly as they had described.

Renova not only considers new business ventures but also has the solid execution power and teamwork to carry them out. The core of this business execution is that everyone, including the management team, takes ownership of the projects, and even if there are problems, we work together to troubleshoot and overcome them. This organizational culture, I believe, increases the success probability of business projects.
In the energy and environment fields, many projects are large-scale, meaning that companies are also large, and tasks are often divided into fine segments. At Renova, we also cooperate and divide tasks as a team, but there are no barriers, and you can gain dense experiences with a small number of people.
