We are currently seeking a highly motivated PPA Origination & Execution Analyst to join our dynamic, multinational team at Shizen Energy, a leading independent player in the renewable energy sector in Japan with presence in Asia. The position will report to the PPA Group Lead as well as the head of Customer Solutions Department with a wide range of opportunities to take a proactive approach in expanding Shizen Energy's PPA business further.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and bilingual PPA Origination & Execution Analyst to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with foundational experience in finance or renewable energy to rapidly develop a career in corporate PPA procurement. The analyst will support the team in identifying, negotiating, and executing corporate PPAs with corporate offtakers across the APAC markets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Analysis & Target Identification:
   Conduct research to identify prospective corporate Offtakers with renewable energy goals and suitable energy load profiles in key APAC markets
   Support the creation of origination strategies, market mapping, and contact lists.
2. PPA Financial Modeling & Structuring:
   Assist in developing and maintaining financial models to evaluate PPA pricing, risks, and commercial terms (e.g., mark-to-market valuations, PPA hedging strategies, cash flow analysis).
   Model the financial impact of different PPA structures (physical vs. virtual) on both the corporate Offtaker and the renewable energy project.
3. Deal Execution & Due Diligence:
   Support the negotiation and execution of PPA contracts, focusing on critical commercial and legal terms.
   Prepare internal documents and presentations for deal approval and investment committee reviews.
4. Industry and Technical Knowledge:
   Rapidly ramp up knowledge of renewable energy markets, regulatory frameworks, power plant technology (solar/wind), and associated risks in APAC.
   Maintain documentation of deal structures, market trends, and internal PPA execution best practices.

Relevant Qualifications

【Required】

Skills and Experiences

• Bilingual fluency in both English & Japanese (N1 or native-level proficiency required).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages, capable of presenting complex financial data clearly.
• Experience with financial modeling and valuation tools for infrastructure/renewable energy power plants would be ideal. Alternatively, some experience with renewable energy project business development (e.g. in a trading house/developer) or experience with ESG in a commercial firm would also be welcome.
• In-depth knowledge of the renewable energy industry, familiarity with the commercial fundamentals of both physical and virtual PPAs, certificates (RECs/GOs), and market dynamics.
• Past exposure to the project financing process (e.g. familiarity with security documents, assignments, lender requirements).
• Advanced proficiency in Excel & PowerPoint.

• High level of accountability, with a strong desire to take proactive steps to take action or fix any errors, with a high level of ownership and pride in their work
• Adept at understanding and navigating different business cultures, communnication styles, and negotiation protocols across the varying APAC markets.

• Previous direct experience with Corporate PPA agreements, on either the developer or the offtaker side, would be very welcome.
