In this role, you will be responsible for working with our business partners and product teams to understand the requirements that drive the technology solutions we will deploy and analyze key requirements needed. You will engage in the testing cycles of those solutions to align and drive that the design meets the original set of expectations. You are part of a global team that is consistently looking at ways to enhance the experience for guests, from planning their trip to their in park visit, to their post return all while driving the best experience all around.
As part of the Digital and Technology team, you will work in a global and multinational team atmosphere, with team members that come to work with us, from various countries. You will engage with not only team members but with multinational vendors that support our destinations and experiences across the globe. So be prepared, as our primary language to operate in is English, daily; however, having other languages, like Japanese is a plus, for local communications.
After joining the company, you will gain a basic understanding of the latest technology for our theme parks and overall in park ride solutions. Not to worry, we will work with you to refine your business system analysis skills. Your role will be responsible for reporting to management both in Japan and within the US. Regardless of your length of service, you will be involved in operations with other parks around the world and will be able to grow significantly.

Job Summary
The Product Manager has overall responsibility for defining, delivering, and supporting technology solutions that enable effective Revenue Operations, Point-of-Sale (POS), and Payments across Universal Studios Japan. This role partners closely with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Technology, and Global Digital Product teams to gather requirements, define solutions, and oversee delivery.
The Product Manager will document and manage epics and user stories in JIRA to drive software development, customization, and configuration. Supporting process documentation will be created and maintained in Confluence and Figma. The role ensures that product releases align with business objectives, follow Agile delivery practices, and deliver measurable value.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Product Definition & Delivery – Gather business and user requirements for Revenue Operations, POS, and Payments. Translate into documented epics and user stories in JIRA with acceptance criteria. Facilitate backlog grooming, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies with delivery teams. Perform validation of features and accept stories in JIRA once criteria are met.
● Product Implementation & Support – Partner with business stakeholders to define to-be processes and maintain process documentation in Confluence/Figma. Participate in UAT planning, execution, and analysis. Coordinate with operations to ensure smooth rollout and business readiness. Contribute to training materials, release notes, and stakeholder communications.
● Product Strategy & Roadmap – Define and maintain a roadmap for POS and Payment capabilities. Partner with Finance, Operations, and Digital leadership to align roadmap priorities with business goals. Proactively assess current capabilities and pain points, and recommend enhancements or new solutions.
● Business Engagement & Communication – Provide demos and walkthroughs of features. Participate in stakeholder engagement sessions, pre-launch sign-offs, and post-launch reviews. Serve as the subject matter expert on POS and Payments product functionality.
● Other Responsibilities – Ensure compliance with Universal policies, including Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned.
Scope of Work
The Product Manager will follow established product management and project delivery methodologies, while also helping to evolve best practices for POS and Payment systems. This role collaborates with internal teams (Operations, Finance, IT, Digital Product, and Business Transformation) and external vendors to ensure successful delivery of business-critical initiatives.
Requirements & Core Competencies
● 5+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, or digital technology delivery.
● Hands-on experience with POS, Payments, or Revenue Operations systems strongly preferred.
● Proven success managing a backlog in JIRA and documenting epics/user stories with acceptance criteria.
● Experience with Confluence/Figma for process documentation.
● Familiarity with Agile methodologies, backlog prioritization, and roadmap planning.
● Demonstrated ability to partner with stakeholders across operations, finance, and technology.
● Strong analytical, problem solving, facilitation, and communication skills.
● Prior experience with large-scale system implementations or transformations preferred.

● Must be able to present complex topics in a clear, concise manner to executives, business partners, and technical teams.
● Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
● Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while driving cross-functional alignment.
● Some travel may be required to support Digital & Technology initiatives across regions
CERTIFICATIONS
● Product Management or Agile certification (e.g., CSPO, SAFe POPM) strongly preferred.
● Project Management Certification a plus.
LANGUAGE
Japanese and English_Advanced business level proficiency
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) required - Business, Technology, Digital Marketing, or Industrial Engineering preferred; Master’s degree preferred.
