Role and Responsibility
The Director, Attractions Operations at Universal Studios Japan will be responsible for driving the overall Guest and Team Member experience, communication of goals and expectations, and ensuring operating and safety standards are maintained. Establishing and overseeing the planning and execution of annual goals for the Department while regularly partnering with other Operational departments and Technical Services.
• Accountable for the overall safe operation of the attractions in partnership with USJ Operations Compliance team to ensure consistency in policy and procedures, compliance training, incident reporting, and reviewing ride surveillance in alignment with UDX and ASTM standards. Ensures goals are met including compliance training, incident investigation and corrective action. Responsible for monitoring industry trends and regularly reviewing and providing input on the Operational Performance Specification.
• Develops and implements training, development and proficiency programs to expand team capabilities, knowledge, and performance through continuous training and role modeling. Leads departmental efforts with team member satisfaction (TSAT) to ensure all team members are satisfied and engaged and partners with all divisions in creating synergies that drive overall company goals and increased revenues.
• Partners with key divisions/departments: Marketing & Sales, Staffing, Training, Human Resources, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Tech Services, Security, Revenue Operations and EHS. Oversees strategic planning, financial analysis and planning, budgets, sanitation and safety, training & development, staffing, employee relations, capital planning, project work, event planning and HRP planning.
• In collaboration with Universal Creative, reviews and provides input on design reviews and the established operating training materials. Supports planning and executing marquee events with attractions elements throughout the year.
• Develops and adheres to labor and non-labor budgets and looks for ways to improve overall efficiency of attractions. Oversees revenue plan and operations of lockers
Requirements

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Strong ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Japanese and English language speaking is preferred.
