Who is Wayfarer?

Wayfarer is a leading next generation hotel operations and travel startup in Japan. Founded in late 2019, we manage over 400 rooms across our brands Wayfarer, ORI and Kabin.

Our vision is to brighten life for the next generation of everyday travelers. We are building a product that is not limited only to the hotel, but also connects to local communities in a meaningful way to help travelers discover more. Powered by inhouse technology that enables digital touchpoints for superior operating efficiencies and a seamless traveler experience, without forgetting the human touch and interactions that make travel real.

What does it take?
The TXP Associate is a challenging position that demands a lot, here’s what we’re looking for:

• Be highly communicative by proactively sharing updates and collaborating effectively. In our small team, everyone has a primary focus, but we all support one another and work closely with Operations, Coordinators, Marketing, and other teams to enhance the traveler experience
• A strategic mindset for balancing budgets and deadlines without compromising quality, and adaptability to shift between projects and reprioritize as needed
• A keen eye for brand and design quality, ensuring all assets meet our standards—while we’re a tech company, the human touch is at the core of what we do
• A proactive approach to improving our offerings, ensuring every detail is thoughtfully designed for our travelers

What will you do?

• Managing content updates and organization within the CMS, and assisting in the setup and optimization of online travel agency (OTA) listings
• Helping to maintain brand consistency across all touchpoints, and keeping an eye on industry trends to bring fresh ideas and improvements to our offerings
• Jumping in to assist with community partnerships and curated recommendations (like KABIN Now), product improvements, and other team needs
• Conducting quality checks on assets, from products materials to in-location setups
• Documenting workflows and processes in a clear, structured, and detail-oriented manner to ensure consistency, efficiency, and knowledge-sharing within the team

Requirements

• Fluency in written and spoken English, N2+ Japanese in reading and conversation
• Independence and an owner’s mindset
• 3+ years of experience in a project management and/or creative role
• Must be living in Kyoto or Osaka with a valid visa/working status
