Since its founding in 1912, the Wismettac Group has been engaged in the food trading business for over 110 years, focusing on "food"—one of Japan’s most globally admired cultural assets. With 74% of its sales generated overseas and approximately 43 global locations, the company has continued to expand its business across international markets. In 2023, Wismettac achieved record-breaking results in both revenue and profit, marking the highest performance in its history. The company recorded approximately ¥300.8 billion in sales, ¥11 billion in operating profit, and ¥12 billion in ordinary profit.

Recognizing the need for substantial growth investments over a short period to capture the increasingly diverse and expanding global demand for Japanese and Asian cuisine, the company has decided to temporarily privatize its stock through a Management Buyout (MBO). This move aims to increase managerial flexibility and drive long-term, sustainable growth in corporate value. Wismettac is currently undergoing a major transformation in what it calls its "second founding phase," striving to become a globally renowned food solutions company.
