Work Description
Based at our studio in Tokyo, you will be a key member of the marketing team and play a central role in our promotional marketing activities.
You will work closely with our publishing partners and manage KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS’ official social media channels, while planning and executing strategies to strengthen the production’s brand and deepen relationships with the fan community through social media.
This position is essential in keeping all fingers on the pulse of our community and requires constant tracking and measuring to ensure that the voice of our fans is being monitored and to provide tangible data showing the performance results of our social activities.
- Develop and manage social media strategies leveraging KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS’ official cross‑channel presence to develop a sense of community with our fans and bring growth to our follower metrics.
- Plan and execute social campaigns that enhance fan anticipation and drive broader trends and conversations, while continuously tracking emerging trends and proposing forward-looking initiatives.
- Collaborate closely and continuously with internal teams, publishing partners and external agencies to carry out day-to-day operations.
- Increase awareness of KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS’ products and the studio itself by amplifying relevant news and announcements across social media.
- Utilize social tracking tools to constantly and consistently report to stakeholders the health and growth of the KJP community.
Requirements
- A strong passion for games and entertainment:
Someone who understands, is deeply engaged with, and above all knows how to enjoy video games, and is motivated in formulating ideas that help keep users continue to enjoy and find value in our products. - Knowledge of social media marketing:
Someone who understands the value of social media as a marketing tool, and knows how to engage the community at key moments for the studio and its products—such as through news updates and press releases—in order to build awareness and anticipation. - Expertise in Social Media Platforms:
Extensive experience in planning, scheduling, and coordinating posts across a wide range of social media platforms, including X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Reddit. - Collaborative and Proactive Mindset:
Brings a variety of creative and innovative ideas for social media, and actively participates in team discussions. Continuously explores ways to maximize impact from a social media perspective, and works enthusiastically as a key point of contact connecting an active community with the studio. - Strategic and Organized:
You possess a level of organization that tracks the studio's social activities, strategically feeds into our larger studio and product initiatives and connects to our Marketing team’s goals and KPIs. - Required Language Qualifications:
Japanese language proficiency at JLPT N1 level or above or native-level, along with business-level English proficiency. Ability to engage effectively with the community and maintain ongoing collaboration with publishing partners and stakeholders worldwide. - A minimum of three years of experience in the gaming industry or the entertainment/creative industry, with hands-on experience in a social media role or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in livestreaming technologies, as well as experience in content production for social media channels.
- Strong multilingual communication skills and a global mindset:
Proficiency in one or more languages other than Japanese and English, with the ability to understand and navigate cultural contexts and nuances in both domestic and international settings.
