Job Purpose
Design, develop, and operate end‑to‑end web applications that digitize SCM processes. Build secure, reliable back‑ends and modern, responsive front‑ends; integrate with enterprise data and identity; deliver features rapidly using CI/CD and agile ways of working.
Responsibilities:
Back-End Development
- Build APIs/services, data access layers, and background jobs
- Implement authentication/authorization and secure integration patterns
- Ensure performance, resilience, and scalable architecture
Front-End Development
- Build responsive UIs for web/tablet/mobile using shared components and design systems
- Ensure accessibility compliance (e.g., WCAG) and excellent UX quality
Data & Integration
- Integrate with SAP/SCM data via curated endpoints and governed interfaces
- Instrument telemetry for usage, health, and performance monitoring
Quality, DevOps & Operability
- Write unit/integration tests and automate builds and deployments
- Operate applications in production: monitoring, alerting, runbooks, and incident readiness
- Maintain observability dashboards and improve reliability continuously
Collaboration
- Partner with Solution Designers on architecture and design decisions
- Collaborate with Frontend Developers on UX polish and standards
- Work with Data Engineers on data contracts, reliability, and integration patterns
KPIs
• Release throughput & lead time, defect/rollback rate
• Performance & reliability: Core Web Vitals, uptime/SLA adherence
• Adoption & satisfaction: active usage, stakeholder feedback, measurable process impact

SCM Senior Solution Designer – Data & Web Apps
Key Stakeholders:
SCM, DNA, business users, Digital Transformation teams.
Academic Qualifications / Professional Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Systems / Engineering (or equivalent practical experience)
· 5+ years experience delivering enterprise-grade full stack web applications
· Proven experience working in Agile teams with CI/CD-driven delivery
· Experience building applications with production ownership (monitoring, support readiness, operational improvements)
· Bilingual Japanese/English
Technical Competencies
Front-End
· Modern frameworks: React / Angular / Vue
· TypeScript, component-based architecture, state management patterns
· HTML/CSS, responsive design, and CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind/Bootstrap/Material UI)
· Accessibility best practices (WCAG) and UI performance optimization
Back-End
· Strong experience with at least one: Node.js / .NET / Java / Python
· API design (REST; GraphQL optional), authentication/authorization patterns (OAuth2/OIDC)
· Background processing (queues/schedulers), resilience patterns, logging and error handling
Data & Integration
· SQL fundamentals and data access best practices; exposure to NoSQL a plus
· Experience integrating across systems via APIs and governed endpoints
· Understanding of data contracts, versioning, and integration testing approaches
DevOps / Cloud
· CI/CD using GitHub and/or Azure DevOps
· Containers (Docker) and cloud PaaS services (Azure/AWS/GCP)
· Observability: monitoring, telemetry, dashboards, alerting, runbooks
· Secure engineering practices: secrets management, least privilege, dependency vulnerability awareness
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
· SAP / SCM integration exposure (SAP ECC/S/4HANA, common SCM data patterns)
· Experience with Microsoft ecosystem: Azure Functions, Power Platform, Dataverse (as applicable)
· Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka/Event Hub), API gateways, caching patterns
