Sales & Licensing Associate (US Based)
SUMMARY The Sales & Licensing Associate supports the sales team in driving sponsorship and promotional partnership opportunities for hololive production talents within the North American market. This associate role is responsible for business development, creative execution of promotional activations, cross-functional project coordination, and deal management. We are seeking a proactive licensing sales professional who can bridge the gap between corporate client goals and the unique creative landscape of Japanese IP! ※This is position is based in the USA, under the employ of COVER USA. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Identify and evaluate new promotion and collaboration opportunities for hololive production talents within the North American market. Proactively plan and prepare pitches to initiate partnerships that generate value to hololive production. Ideate creative promotional concepts that resonate with the VTuber community while meeting client marketing goals. Draft and refine scripts for live streams, short-form videos, and product reviews, ensuring alignment with both the partner's guidelines and the talent's content style. Monitor project progress and compliance to ensure all deliverables are met according to the agreement and brand standards. Serve as the point of contact between legal, finance, supervision, and talent managers to facilitate the smooth execution of promotional projects. Support the team through the deal term process from initial outreach to financial negotiation. Follow up after talent activation to compile and share detailed performance stats and insights from marketing activations. Perform other strategic duties, ad-hoc projects, and cross-functional tasks as assigned by Headquarters, top management, and supervisor as necessary. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY This position has NO supervisory responsibility QUALIFICATIONS Education / Experience: Required 3+ years of experience in influencer marketing, brand partnerships, or business development within the North American entertainment or gaming sector. Proven experience in scriptwriting, talent activation management, and/or managing multi-stage projects involving various stakeholders. Experience in managing project budgets and performing ROI analysis based on (talent) performance data. Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Law, or a related field. An existing network of potential marketing agencies and clients in the North American market. Specific experience working with Japanese rights holders, anime properties, or related subculture IPs. A genuine passion for VTubers, Japanese subculture, and the hololive production fandom. Fundamental Skills: Ability to lead end-to-end negotiations of business terms effectively. Proficiency in Japanese in addition to the required English to communicate effectively with HQ and understand creative nuances is a plus. Strong follow-up skills and the ability to manage complex timelines across different time zones. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving industry while maintaining brand integrity. High proficiency in necessary tools to conduct tasks, including Slack, Monday.com, Microsoft Office, and more.
