Role Overview
The MarCom Manager is responsible for leading integrated marketing communications initiatives across online and offline channels, supporting Hoya's B2B and B2B2C business strategies through congresses, customer events, marketing collateral, branding, and digital communications. This role is expected to strengthen the Hoya brand, deliver impactful customer experiences, and support the evolution of marketing capabilities through website optimization, omnichannel engagement, marketing automation adoption, and continuous improvement of marketing processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in marketing and communications, as well as the ability to lead a team and execute comprehensive communication strategies across traditional and digital channels. The MarCom Manager oversees the internal and external communications to align the branding of Hoya inside the company and outside the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the internal and external communication strategy, aligning with the overall marketing objectives and goals.
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of trade shows and other customer events, including planning, logistics, booth design, staffing, increasing customer traffic, and post-event evaluation.
- Drive the development and enhancement of the Hoya brand across B2B,B2B2C and internal communications, ensuring consistent messaging and visual identity across all customer and stakeholder touchpoints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, sales collateral, website content, and other digital assets.
- Manage and mentor a team of 2-3 marketing communications professionals, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Oversee the production of marketing communications materials, ensuring they are compelling, accurate, cost efficient and delivered on time.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in marketing communications strategies.
- Work with vendors and agencies to create and/or localize communications and marketing activities and developing supporting assets across online and offline channels.
- Establish and maintain relationships with media partners, industry influencers, and other key stakeholders to maximize brand exposure.
- Manage the marketing communications budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately and expenditures are within approved limits.
- Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs), digital channel performance, and customer engagement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing communication initiatives and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Oversee the development, maintenance, and continuous optimization of the company website to strengthen brand presence and enhance customer experience.
- Support the adoption and utilization of marketing automation tools and technologies to improve campaign effectiveness, customer engagement, and operational efficiency.
- Develop integrated omnichannel communication approaches to ensure consistent customer experience across events, sales interactions, website, email, social media, and other communication channels.
- Drive continuous improvement of marketing communications processes, workflows, and performance measurement to enhance operational effectiveness and scalability.
Requirements
Experience
- Strong understanding of branding, messaging, and visual identity principles.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies across online and offline channels.
- Experience in digital marketing, website management, marketing automation, omnichannel communications, or customer engagement initiatives is preferred.
- Experience in managing and leading a team, fostering collaboration, and providing mentorship and development opportunities.
- Experience in marketing automation, omnichannel communications, or marketing process improvement initiatives is highly desirable.
Skills/Accreditations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and persuasive messages for different target audiences.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using digital marketing tools and platforms, such as content management systems (CMS), marketing automation platforms, email marketing software, web analytics tools, CRM systems, and social media management tools.
- Knowledge of the latest marketing communication trends, digital technologies, omnichannel engagement strategies, and best practices.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to track and analyze campaign performance, customer engagement metrics, and data to measure the impact and effectiveness of marketing communication initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- High level of creativity and strategic thinking, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Understanding of website management, customer journey mapping, and digital customer experience optimization.
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in both English and Japanese.
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above
