In the engineering organization, the ratio of non-Japanese members is now higher than that of Japanese members. Talented engineers from over 30 countries, including Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and South America, have joined us, creating a highly diverse environment.

Starting from November 2024, English is the official language within our engineering organization. Since announcing this transition in 2021, we have implemented English documentation, chat communication, and meetings. This ensures that even those who do not speak Japanese can thrive at Money Forward. Therefore, Japanese language proficiency is not required for the selection process.

We also offer comprehensive support for non-Japanese members, prayer rooms, and relocation packages covering flight costs, visa expenses, airport pickup, and temporary housing etc.

Job Description

Software Engineer I

Since our establishment in 2012, Money Forward has launched more than 60 products. Our service areas include:

  • Services for individual users
  • Corporate cloud services
  • Corporate consulting services
  • Corporate financial services
  • Services for financial institutions

You will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Backend Development
  • Frontend Development
  • Mobile Application Development

The team assignment is determined before you join the company, taking into account your preference, evaluation during the selection process, and aptitude.

Tech Stack:
Frontend: JavaScript/TypeScript
Backend: Ruby/Go/Kotlin/Java/Python/Rust
Mobile: Android (Kotlin/Java), iOS (Swift/Objective-C), Cross Platform: Dart (Flutter)

Qualifications

Educational Background: Have a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technologies, or a related field.

Graduation Timing: For April 2026 entry, candidates who are expected to graduate between September 2025 and March 2026 and reside in Japan are eligible. For November 2026 entry, candidates who are expected to graduate between November 2025 and July 2026 are eligible.

Academic Record: Have an excellent academic record.

Internship Experience: Have internship experience related to software development (minimum of 3 months).

Annual salary

5 million JPY or higher.

*Including fixed overtime work allowance of 45 hours for regular, non-legal hours, legal holidays and 40 hours for late-night work.

Location

One of the following offices in Japan:

Tokyo / Osaka / Kyoto / Fukuoka / Nagoya

Work Style

Hybrid work model: 2 days a week in the office, 3 days remote or in the office at your discretion.

The 2 office days are designated as team office days, where all team members are expected to be present.

This policy may be subject to change based on the company's needs and work circumstances.
