Q1: What kind of work have you been involved in up to now?

Renova is the third company I have worked for. Having been involved in wind and solar power projects at a manufacturer, I wasn’t completely new to renewable energy.

My specific duties included planning and designing electrical and civil engineering projects, as well as project management, including on-site construction. I feel like I've gained a wide range of experiences.

After joining the company, I finally got to work on the forefront of developing solar and wind power projects and other multiple power sources.

We often consider technologies that have no precedent in Japan. Every step is more challenging than anything I encountered in my previous jobs. But that's what makes it fun. When challenges arise, we discuss them with the team and find the optimal solution each time. This process gives me the sense that we are pioneering the cutting-edge with our own efforts.

Q2: Why did you choose Renova?

I wanted to use my abilities to pioneer the world's cutting edge, not limited to specific power sources. So when I saw Renova's website, I was honestly thrilled.

They are trying to deploy renewable energy with various power sources, and the scale of their business is immense.

I decided to make a bold career change, thinking that the skills I gained from working on large-scale systems at my first company could be useful at Renova.

Therefore, after joining Renova, there were significantly more opportunities to exchange opinions with team members. I also realized that I had been speaking with a biased perspective from my past successes. It's challenging, but I enjoy the learning experience and the stimulation from members with different backgrounds.

Q3: What are the characteristics of RENOVA? (Good points, things you are proud of, things you are satisfied with, etc.)

You might get the impression that we're advancing our projects by groping in the dark, but that's not the case.

We build strong hypotheses based on intuition derived from specialized knowledge and experience, and advance step-by-step relying on them. If the hypothesis or verification process is insufficient, an "engineer's intuition" kicks in, creating a sense of discomfort.

When I honestly talk about it to the team, strangely, they also feel the same discomfort. In such cases, we immediately revise the hypothesis and verification process and move forward anew. It’s a fun process where team members bring together their high expertise and wisdom to find the optimal solution.

I think Renova is a company well-suited for engineers who are enthusiastic about challenges and always seeking something new.
