N.O / GX Head
Q1: What kind of work have you been involved in up to now? After joining the company, I spent several years engaged in environmental consulting projects in Japan and Southeast Asia. Later, a team for a large-scale biomass power generation project was formed, consisting of three members including myself. We ran around the country with maps in hand, searching for candidate sites, learning technologies, gaining acceptance from local people, and devising entirely new schemes from scratch. This experience of launching a new business was incredibly immersive. Among these tasks, securing fuel procurement was vital. Since it was a transitional period, there were no established methods at the time. We groped our way through building long-term procurement schemes, contract conditions, quality aspects, and project finance structuring. Despite various challenges, the project gradually progressed, more members joined, and now there are seven operational and under-construction power plants nationwide. This process was enjoyable and truly gave a sense of immediacy. Q2: Why did you choose Renova? My criteria for making a decision about where to work is whether I can accumulate high-concentration experiences at the forefront of business and work with a sense of immediacy. I joined Renova because I believed I could directly face business and launch projects from scratch. I expressed this during the interview, and the company's management straightforwardly told me, "We have an environment that can respond to your aspirations." Upon joining, I found the internal environment exactly as they had described. Q3: What are the characteristics of RENOVA? (Good points, things you are proud of, things you are satisfied with, etc.) Renova not only considers new business ventures but also has the solid execution power and teamwork to carry them out. The core of this business execution is that everyone, including the management team, takes ownership of the projects, and even if there are problems, we work together to troubleshoot and overcome them. This organizational culture, I believe, increases the success probability of business projects. In the energy and environment fields, many projects are large-scale, meaning that companies are also large, and tasks are often divided into fine segments. At Renova, we also cooperate and divide tasks as a team, but there are no barriers, and you can gain dense experiences with a small number of people. For those who want to realize new things from scratch and enjoy challenges, Renova is definitely a rewarding company to work for. Related job openings GX Biz Dev. Job listings 続きを見る

T.W / Engineering Department 1 General Manager
Q1: What kind of work have you been involved in up to now? Renova is the third company I have worked for. Having been involved in wind and solar power projects at a manufacturer, I wasn’t completely new to renewable energy. My specific duties included planning and designing electrical and civil engineering projects, as well as project management, including on-site construction. I feel like I've gained a wide range of experiences. After joining the company, I finally got to work on the forefront of developing solar and wind power projects and other multiple power sources. We often consider technologies that have no precedent in Japan. Every step is more challenging than anything I encountered in my previous jobs. But that's what makes it fun. When challenges arise, we discuss them with the team and find the optimal solution each time. This process gives me the sense that we are pioneering the cutting-edge with our own efforts. Q2: Why did you choose Renova? I wanted to use my abilities to pioneer the world's cutting edge, not limited to specific power sources. So when I saw Renova's website, I was honestly thrilled. They are trying to deploy renewable energy with various power sources, and the scale of their business is immense. I decided to make a bold career change, thinking that the skills I gained from working on large-scale systems at my first company could be useful at Renova. Therefore, after joining Renova, there were significantly more opportunities to exchange opinions with team members. I also realized that I had been speaking with a biased perspective from my past successes. It's challenging, but I enjoy the learning experience and the stimulation from members with different backgrounds. Q3: What are the characteristics of RENOVA? (Good points, things you are proud of, things you are satisfied with, etc.) You might get the impression that we're advancing our projects by groping in the dark, but that's not the case. We build strong hypotheses based on intuition derived from specialized knowledge and experience, and advance step-by-step relying on them. If the hypothesis or verification process is insufficient, an "engineer's intuition" kicks in, creating a sense of discomfort. When I honestly talk about it to the team, strangely, they also feel the same discomfort. In such cases, we immediately revise the hypothesis and verification process and move forward anew. It’s a fun process where team members bring together their high expertise and wisdom to find the optimal solution. I think Renova is a company well-suited for engineers who are enthusiastic about challenges and always seeking something new. For those who have a strong belief that they will not let their dreams and aspirations remain fantasies but will absolutely realize them, Renova provides an excellent environment. M.U / Biomass Energy/Biomass Business Management/General Affairs and Human Resources Group Leader
Q1: What kind of work have you been involved in up to now? I joined Renova in 2003 and initially engaged in the environmental consulting business. As the company's business evolved, so did my work. Currently, after two maternity and childcare leaves, I serve as the coordinator of general affairs in the operation and management of biomass power plants. Our company plans to start operating six large-scale biomass power plants in the coming years, and we are building an operational framework by considering various risks so that the new plants can be run more smoothly and safely, using our already operating biomass power plant as a model case. Our team is working together to ensure that we can effectively pass the baton to the local general managers when the plants start operating in the future. In my work, I value "compassion." Even amidst the daily busy tasks, I strive to add a touch of compassion to my words to facilitate smoother communication and ensure steady progress in our projects. I hope to act as a lubricant in the processes I am involved in. I enjoy working in a style where we share our thoughts, overcome difficulties together, and aim for our goals. That's why I want everyone involved to feel as comfortable as possible while working. Q2: Why did you choose Renova? Many of the employees who are currently working hard at our company joined as new graduates over ten years ago, when we were still an unlisted venture company. They had a strong belief that they were the ones to pave the way and grow the company, making new proposals one after another and actually leading the company. I would be delighted to move forward with those who find such aspects rewarding, step by step, in solving environmental issues. I value the "connections between people," not only with my colleagues at the headquarters but also with those working at the power plants and everyone involved with our company. I want to continue overcoming various challenges together. Q3: What are the characteristics of RENOVA? (Good points, things you are proud of, things you are satisfied with, etc.) When I joined in 2003, there were only about ten members, including the president, but everyone was working with enthusiasm, thinking, "Let's make this a great company and business! We will grow this company ourselves!" Even today, the corporate culture of working with passion remains strong. I also appreciate the free atmosphere. Of course, it's a freedom accompanied by responsibility, but as long as one fulfills their responsibilities, there is no enforced rigid approach. After experiencing maternity leave and returning to work for my two children, I now spend more time for my family. During the challenging times after my first child's birth, my boss quickly took over the heavy workload I was handling, simply saying, "Prioritize your family." I am grateful for being in an environment where I can flexibly change my work style according to my life stage and for having understanding colleagues. K.T / Engineering Department 1 Solor Group Group leader
Q1: What kind of work have you been involved in up to now? Before joining Renova, I worked as an engineer for a Japanese manufacturer, focusing on missile systems (from prototyping to mass production) and nuclear power plants (nuclear reactor control). Additionally, I was involved in engineering work related to the maintenance design, safety assurance, and operational efficiency improvement of attraction facilities at a foreign-affiliated theme park in Kansai. After joining RENOVA, I have been responsible for exploring ways to improve operations and manage projects related to non-FIT solar power. Q2: Why did you choose Renova? I have always been interested in the issue of global warming and the renewable energy industry. When I was looking for a new job, I considered working for a renewable energy company. However, at that time, the business environment for renewable energy was not as well-developed as it is now, which led me to take a job at a nuclear power-related company instead. Nevertheless, my desire to pass on a safe and secure planet to my children and grandchildren has always remained. I decided to join Renova after being introduced to the company by a former boss from my previous job (at a foreign-affiliated theme park). Q3: What are the characteristics of RENOVA? (Good points, things you are proud of, things you are satisfied with, etc.) Each employee has their own ideas and intentions, and the speed of decision-making and overall workflow in the company is very fast. (It doesn’t feel like you’re just a cog in the machine; each person plays a critical role.) Even the younger members tend to think for themselves and work independently, which gives the impression that they grow very quickly. As a company, although there are some areas that are still being developed, we see these areas as opportunities to create things ourselves. I am also satisfied that we collaborate with our external partners to achieve the common goal of advancing the non-FIT solar power business. Moreover, we can see significant growth within a single year due to the continuous process of change, improvement, and evolution. Related job openings Engineering Job Listings 続きを見る

Y.Y / Biomass Energy Biomass Fuel
Q1: What kind of work have you been involved in up to now? I have been working in the Biomass Energy Division since joining the company as a new graduate, and have been involved in the development, construction and operation of biomass power plants for about 7 years. When I first joined the company, I was involved as an assistant in the development phase of each project (dealing with local people and landowners, dealing with government agencies, negotiating various key contracts, negotiating loan contracts with financial institutions, etc.). After that, I was engaged in construction management (QCDSE management) and coordination of relationships with internal departments, sponsors, and lenders as the project manager for the TTB. Currently, as the Operation Manager of the Fuel Department, I am in charge of ship management for the fuel supplied to biomass power plants throughout the country, as well as handling problems that arise during contract negotiations. Q2: Why did you choose Renova? Since I was a student, I have wanted to be involved in the biomass power plant business. After that, while I was looking for a job based on the axes of “environmental business”, “energy”, and “local economy” I applied to RENOVA because it has the closest relationship with the local community in its business continuity. Also, the employees I met through my job hunts were all very unique, and I got a good impression of the inspiring work environment, so I decided to join the company. Q3: What are the characteristics of RENOVA? (Good points, things you are proud of, things you are satisfied with, etc.) I think that “active handover of authority to young staff” is our greatest feature that we can be proud of. Compared to major companies, support for training new graduates may be lacking, but if you act with the desire to grow on your own and gain the trust of those around you, you will be entrusted with all aspects of your work as long as it does not go against the interests of the company. However, the responsibility and pressure you will face will be huge, but it will definitely lead to your own growth. Furthermore, as “diverse human resources” are hired for mid-career positions, we can learn about specialized knowledge in other industries and fields through these people. F.Y / Procurement Strategic Procurement
Q1: What kind of work have you been involved in up to now? I have been involved in procurement for over 10 years since my previous job. Before joining Renova, my responsibilities included creating purchase orders, handling deliveries, managing inventory, and overseeing payment schedules. Since joining RENOVA, I have been focusing on tasks such as strategic planning for main engine procurement, establishing vendor selection criteria, screening and evaluation processes, and sourcing activities for potential suppliers. In addition to strategic procurement, I am also involved in the bidding process and RFQ (Request for Quotation) creation. Q2: Why did you choose Renova? I used to work in the procurement department of a manufacturing company. After eight years of experience, I decided that I wanted to try building my career from a different perspective as a service provider in hopes of broadening my horizons and gain more knowledge and experience. In the meantime, I had the opportunity to meet my prior manager (my boss at my previous job), who had joined Renova before me, and he introduced me to the appealing environment. At the time, the procurement team was in the process of being established, but I felt that if I could participate at this point, I would be able to be deeply involved in the development of the organization. Another attraction of Renova is that there are no language barriers, and you can work in English, Japanese or my native language, Mandarin. For these reasons, I decided to join Renova. Q3: What are the characteristics of RENOVA? (Good points, things you are proud of, things you are satisfied with, etc.) The most attractive thing about Renova is that it gives its employees flexibility and respects them to the greatest extent possible. I am always grateful to Renova for providing a working environment that is easy for foreign employees to work in, such as a flexible working style that allows me to work from home in my hometown in Taiwan as well as from my home in Japan. There are also no restrictions on ideas or solutions when it comes to carrying out projects. All members work as one team, drawing on their knowledge and experience to overcome any difficulties that arise. Related job openings Procurement Job Listings 続きを見る

Y.S / Global Business Development Global Sourcing 1 Korea Group Group Leader
Q1: What kind of work have you been involved in up to now? Before joining RENOVA, I worked for an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) company, where I was in charge of EPC work on coal-fired power plants and onshore and offshore wind power plant projects. I had experience of project scheduling, budgeting and construction management, but I had no experience in business development. After joining RENOVA, I began to work in business development for renewable energy. Initially, RRK (Renova Korea) focused mainly on the development of offshore wind power projects, but recently we have also been working on developing onshore wind power and solar power projects. Additionally, I have been managing the RRK organization as the country head of Korea since April 2023. Q2: Why did you choose Renova? I joined RENOVA in May 2020. I resigned in October 2021 and re-joined in January 2022. At the time of my first joining, I did not know much about the company, but looking at RENOVA's financial statements, I felt that it was a company with a strong financial position. I believed that even a small team (when I first joined the company, there were two people in the RRK department, including myself, and three people in the Tokyo GB [Global Business] department) could achieve great results. After working at another foreign-affiliated (European) company for a short period of time (3 months), I was able to clearly recognize the good things about Renova and decided to return. Q3: What are the characteristics of RENOVA? (Good points, things you are proud of, things you are satisfied with, etc.) Here are the strengths of Renova, as I see them: The first is the agile management of the organization. It is possible to communicate freely with the management team and directly hear their opinions. Secondly, the teamwork is excellent. Everyone works hard to ensure project success. Thirdly, the company is flexible, making it easier to develop new projects. This flexibility is because RENOVA is not obsessed with being the largest shareholder. Fourth, quick decision-making is possible. I don't think there are many approval procedures. Fifth, the company continues to develop in all aspects without stopping. Y.T / Global Business Developmen Global Sourcing 2 Philippines Group
Q1: What kind of work have you been involved in up to now? I joined RENOVA as a new graduate. From my first to third year, I was involved in a wide range of work in the domestic offshore wind power business development team, including examining and promoting local contribution plans, and planning and developing new businesses. From my fourth year to the present, I have been working in the global business development team, developing solar and wind power projects in the Philippines. Q2: Why did you choose Renova? Renova has set the solution of environmental problems as its universal axis, and I resonated with its stance of addressing the most important issues of the times through the creation of businesses. In terms of personal career development, Renova has a philosophy that “individual will leads to individual growth and maximization of results.” I felt that it was a company that would support proactive career development. I also decided to join the company because I was attracted to its flat corporate culture, where individual opinions are respected regardless of age or position. Q3: What are the characteristics of RENOVA? (Good points, things you are proud of, things you are satisfied with, etc.) The first point is that as an employee, I feel a sense of pride in the company's attitude and policy of putting all its efforts into making sure that its business development activities are not only good for the global environment, but also good for the local community. Secondly, I am satisfied that we have excellent colleagues who are passionate about solving environmental problems, and that we are an exciting company where we can work with such members to create businesses from scratch and take on the challenge of larger, more difficult projects. Lastly, I think that the company environment, which supports challenges regardless of age, is good. It is the perfect environment for people who want to work with initiative from an early stage.
